The mass uprising of 2024 should not be viewed as the 'final struggle', but rather as a 'rehearsal for the ultimate battle' ahead, declared Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Chief of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Leader of the Opposition in Parliament. Addressing a seminar on Sunday at the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB) auditorium in Kakrail, Dhaka, he emphasized that those who rose up in 2024 have neither died nor fallen asleep, but are closely observing the unfolding situation.

Speaking as the chief guest at the seminar titled 'Principles and Ideals of the Prophet (SM) in State Reform', Dr. Shafiqur Rahman noted that before any major battle, an army must be formed, trained, and put through rigorous drills. In that context, he asserted, the events of 2024 served as a crucial rehearsal for the nation's final struggle.

Warning against the resurgence of authoritarianism, the Jamaat chief stressed that fascism is not tied to any single political party but acts as a contagious disease. "Fascism is a virus that spreads from one place to another; whoever gets infected with this virus turns into a fascist," he remarked.

He urged all democratic forces and citizens to remain vigilant to protect the gains of the mass movement and ensure comprehensive state reforms based on justice and moral principles.
