In a major stride toward sustainable corporate operations, Robi Axiata PLC has expanded its eco-friendly fleet by deploying electric "Robi Super Bikes" across 458 upazilas and thanas in all 64 districts of Bangladesh. The nationwide initiative, announced on Wednesday, aims to slash carbon emissions while accelerating the delivery of digital services and customer support to remote and underserved communities.

By equipping field-level employees with these high-tech e-bikes, the telecom operator seeks to optimize its distribution footprint and ensure faster, more efficient service delivery at the thana and union levels. Unlike traditional fossil-fuel motorcycles, these zero-emission electric bikes provide an eco-conscious alternative that actively reduces environmental pollution.

Robi Axiata PLC Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) Shihab Ahmad said, "The Robi Super Bike initiative is an important step towards building a sustainable transportation ecosystem while enabling us to deliver digital services more effectively to remote parts of the country. Through this initiative, we are not only contributing to environmental protection but also ensuring faster and more reliable service for our customers."

First introduced last year to support field operations, these customized electric bikes are integrated with advanced technological features for safety and operational monitoring, including geo-fencing, real-time GPS tracking, and facial-recognition unlocking. Additionally, each bike is highly optimized for field utility, featuring a convertible cargo box, a Robi-branded umbrella, USB charging ports, and an audio hand microphone for public awareness campaigns.

Ahmad further emphasized the company's long-term vision stating, "The expansion of the Robi Super Bike fleet reflects our commitment to innovation, environmental responsibility, and digital inclusion. It is a clear demonstration of Robi’s dedication to supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and promoting long-term sustainable development in Bangladesh."
